Travis Scott/Nike “phantom” Remix

Remix By: Koshir

It was either late September or early October when I received my subscription to "Inked" magazine. As I was flippin' through I came across an article/ad for Travis Scott and Nike's new collab shoe that was set to release Dec 15th, 2022. The "Phantom" as they called it was somewhat of a let down to me because I expected more from two brands as big as Travis Scott and Nike. It was at this point that I had to take a hip-hop approach to my opinion and decided that I was going to remix the shoe a few different ways. That same night I drew the shoe using the "grid method" and got to work designing the three shoes you see today. Each shoe was drawn on 2 ply tag board and drawn in a ball point pen while on various lock downs in Florence, CO (Federal Correctional Institution) that lasted anywhere from 1 week to 1 month between Sept 15th and Nov 15th, 2022. Sometimes I think I should thank the Feds for giving me these awesome opportunities to create! What you think? Stockholm Syndrome much??? Lol

This shoe was inspired by my favorite holiday, Halloween. I wanted to keep the litttle characters to a minimum and focus on the color scheme my celly "Gutta Swan" came up with. The alien faces on the sole are most definitely my favorite part.

If you're a Strange Music fan like me you know why I went with red, black, and white on this one. I felt like doing this shoe for the homie Tech N9ne's label was a dope way to show my appreciation for the music that inspired me to pursue my own rap career.

I especially like this shoe because the concept came to me by chance. One night I was making a drink in my cell (1 part Major Melon Mtn. Diew, 1 part Polar Blast Hawaiian Punch drink mix) and just knew I had to use the colors in my water bottle on my last shoe remix. I took this moment as a sign and ran with it.
